A very special Partnership

With the inherent power of the Eleven Dot Angels and open hearts of Wendt & Kühn’s fans around the world, we would like to support the work of the World Childhood Foundation in Germany.

The idea of a partnership with the World Childhood Foundation was born during the Eleven Dot Angel’s 100th anniversary in 2023. Established by Her Majesty Queen Silvia of Sweden, the Foundation’s mission is to protect children against violence and strengthen their rights. But why choose to support this foundation in particular? Our figurines represent harmony, love, security, and the innocent joys of childhood. We are aware that the idyllic childhood image conveyed by our figurines sometimes contrasts with a harsh reality – not all children are granted a carefree childhood. That is why we want to support the Foundation’s work and make a positive difference for children everywhere. In doing so, we also feel aligned with the legacy of the company founder. “I know that Grete Wendt would wholeheartedly approve of the Foundation’s work and our shared commitment,” asserts Claudia Baer, General Partner of Wendt & Kühn KG and grandniece of Grete Wendt.

“Children who have been subjected to abuse are robbed of their right to a childhood, and every lost childhood is an irreplaceable loss for us all.”

A light as a sign of hope and warmth

To support the Foundation’s projects, we have chosen our most recognizable group of figurines: the Eleven Dot Angels. With their inherent power, we hope to reach the hearts of as many people as possible. These angels are truly very special: They bear eleven multicolored dots on their green wings, instead of the usual eleven white wing dots. With this color variation, we incorporate a central design element of the Foundation as a visible symbol of our shared values.

Angel with Candle

2024

The first angel created for the World Childhood Foundation is holding a candle. Its light is meant to be a symbol of hope and warmth. Only a few of the 25,000 limited-edition figurines are still available.

Angel with Teddy

From July 2026

In 2026, the Angel with Candle is joined by a companion: the Angel with Teddy. The figurine symbolizes the wish that every child may experience love and care – just as the heavenly messenger lovingly cares for its teddy bear.

Doing Good Together

For every angel sold, four euros are donated to the World Childhood Foundation. The money directly benefits the Foundation’s projects. This contribution represents global support – both material and non-material – and a partnership based on shared goals and values.

Insights into the production process: Using a dabbing stick, the painters in the manufactory apply color by color and dot by dot to the green angel wings. Then the heavenly messengers are given their gentle smile. Artful craftsmanship, executed with great attention to detail.

About the Foundation

The World Childhood Foundation was established in 1999 by Her Majesty Queen Silvia of Sweden with the goal of protecting children’s right to a safe and loving childhood and improving the basic living conditions of those children at risk of or affected by sexual abuse and violence. Currently, the World Childhood Foundation’s four sister foundations in Germany, Sweden, the United States, and Brazil collaborate with over 60 partner organizations in 9 different countries. The Foundation’s charitable work is funded solely by donations. Every contribution, large or small, helps the Foundation advocate for the rights of children who are at risk of or affected by physical or sexual abuse or exploitation.

Projects and priorities

In Germany alone, it is estimated that one million children have experienced sexual abuse.*  Childhood Germany supports innovative and sustainable projects dedicated to the prevention of and intervention in abuse and sexual violence against children. The Foundation aims to educate children about their rights and employ preventative measures to reduce abuse, exploitation, and neglect. The Foundation’s current focus in Germany is on establishing Childhood Houses to provide safe havens for children who have experienced violence. Here they can receive safe, age-appropriate care. The concept behind every Childhood House is to minimize the number of medical examinations and interrogations the children must undergo, which is achieved through close cooperation among medical professionals, psychologists, the police, the justice system, youth welfare offices, and local child protection agencies – all under one roof. The Foundation helps local organizations implement this concept and provides advisory support.
